Mr. Pig has been an important part of our lives for almost as long as Ridge has. His tail isn't curly anymore, and he is bare in a few spots. The stuffing in his neck is all but gone and despite repeated washings he is definitely more gray than pink. He has been a very loyal and faithful comforter for all kinds of things. Along the way we got a Mrs. Pig. She was meant to be a new Mr. Pig but Ridge quickly declared her to be Mr. Pig's Grandma (given to him by his Grandma, of course). And she is loved on occasion, but Mr. Pig is a staple. A must have at night or while reading books or anytime the need arises.
One day Ridge asked why Mr. Pig had never had a birthday party. I answered that I didn't really know when Mr. Pig's birthday was. Ridge promptly told me that it happened to be that very day. Well, in that case, I replied, we better have a party. So that is what we did. It turned out that Mr. Pig wanted Hawaiian haystacks for his birthday dinner. How funny, that is also Ridge's favorite. We also made pig cupcakes for dessert in honor of the birthday pig. It was a fun night. Happy Birthday Mr. Pig!
