Katelynisms

These are a few of the latest Katelynisms.

Katelyn - Mom, don't you think Brianna needs to change her name? (Brianna is our niece)
Me - Why would Brianna need to change her name?
Katelyn - Because it sounds like banana, and she is NOT A BANANA!

Katelyn - Dad, how old are you?
Russ - 33
Katelyn - Ohhhh (very sad voice)
Russ - Why do you sound sad?
Katelyn - That is really old and you will probably die soon.
Russ - Hmmmm

Note- Katelyn has been obsessed with first aid kits. She came to scouts with me one night when we made first aid kits and she made one then. We also made first aid kits in her preschool. Now she has two that she keeps in her yellow purse (more on the yellow purse later).

Katelyn - Mom, I shouldn't call this my first aid kit.
Me - Why not?
Katelyn - because I have more than one. I'll call this my second aid kit and if I get another one it will be my third aid kit.

Katelyn - "I'm going to be five before Ridge is even a grown up like me and Kyleigh."

Katelyn and her yellow purse -
A few months ago Kyleigh and Katelyn were having trouble sharing with each other and other people. I was hearing a lot of, "she can't play with that, it is my special thing." I made a rule that they could each adopt ONE special thing. Katelyn chose her yellow purse. The yellow purse is a pretty big purse that Auntie Dawn (who is the mom of three cute boys, and loves to spoil little girls) gave her. We thought that was kind of strange, but she insisted. We agreed. The next thing you know, she has that yellow purse CRAM PACKED with stuff. We realized that she had schemed the whole thing. Nobody could mess with the stuff in the yellow purse if the yellow purse itself was her one special thing. The contents of the yellow purse have changed but the yellow purse itself is still stuffed to the brim with supplies. We have one smart girl.
